• Tips to protect your solid wood furniture

• Sudden changes of temperature and humidity can stress your furniture, use a humidifier in winter to make up for the dryness created by heaters. During the summer use air conditioner.
• Place furniture away from vents, radiators, fireplaces, and other heating sources.
• Avoid placing hot items on surfaces, this will damage lacquer and wood.
• Lacquer responds to temperature and light. Lacquer finishes will age more rapidly if placed close to a window or exposed directly to sunlight.
• Dust with a clean, damp cloth. This will reduce build up that can scratch the finish. You can use high quality furniture polish sporadically to enhance the finish. Avoid using waxes.
• Wipe off liquid spills immediately.
• Alcohol, nail polish remover and perfume will dissolve the finish on contact, try to keep these solvents away from lacquered finished pieces.
